Photohunt - In Memory

As soon as I saw this weeks topic, I knew exactly which photo I was going to use.

Josh was a huge part of my life growing up. He was my BFF Jennifer's little brother and also my little brother's BFF. The 4 of us were ALWAYS together. There is not a day goes by that I don't think of him and wonder what his life would be like now. Would he be married? Have children?

Josh died just weeks before his 21st birthday in a suicide attempt/police shooting. You can find the articles from the local paper here, here, here, & here.


Here is a letter I wrote to him about a week after I found out that he was killed:

What can I say? You were like a brother to me.
You were always at my house driving me nuts along with Patrick.
There was never a time that I was around you,
that you failed to make me laugh until I snorted. (Which you knew I hated)
These last few days, I have been thinking about everything that we did as kids.
We had some great times-the four of us together.
You asked me to marry you on many occasions, and every time I just laughed.
I couldn't marry you, that would be like marrying Patrick (yuck)
At your viewing, your mother asked me why I didn't marry you and keep you
out of trouble. Maybe you would still be here with us if I had?
Though, I do know that you were very happy for me when I met Keith.
You told me that if I wasn't going to marry you,
then Keith was the right man for the job.
You were right Josh! He has been wonderful.
He's so upset that he never got the time to come up and go 4 wheeling with you.
If you were still here I'd kick your a$$ for putting us through this.

I love you lil brother.

Knight Enterprises - In the struggling economy, there are many companies that are not hiring. Knight Enterprises is one of these companies. However, after talking with Keith about his experience and lack of work they have offered him a job. He starts on Monday! Can we say: HAPPY DANCE!

Keith - No matter what happens, or what has been said, Keith always stands behind me. For this I will be forever grateful.

  Dum Dums - These are my new "cigarettes". I cannot get through a day without them!

Good Times!

Run Andrew, Run!

Last week was the championship for Andrew's Track team. They had the meet at the high school right next to Andrew's middle school which was nice for us because they could have picked any of the other schools in the county..... The meet started at noon and we brought with us lots of water, fruit, and cheese for the boys team. For a bunch of teenagers, I was very surprised at the amount of "Thank You's" that we received when we showed up with our cooler filled with goodies.

Andrew runs the 400 (1/4 mile) and has the 3rd fastest time on his team. During practice he has consistently run 4 seconds faster than at the meets. He lets the pressure of wanting to win psych him out. This time he ran 1.5 seconds faster than he has ever run at a meet and came in 4th out of all 21 boys that ran (3 boys from each of the 7 schools participating). Of course, he was disappointed that he didn't come in 1st place, but Keith & I are very proud of him. Overall, the school came in 3rd place for both the boys and girls teams. I cannot wait until next season!
