Song Of The Week

We had a bunch of friends and family over this weekend, and with all of the positive energy, my mood has improved some.

My is Lean On Me by Bill Withers. It's nice to have someone to lean on when you are in need!

Is there a song that you couldn't stop listening to last week, or one that describes how you're feeling?

Friday Favorites #3

Yes, it's that time again. Time to pay homage to the things that have gotten me through the last week. Here they are in no particular order:

Maztec - Keith's new contract has finally kicked off and the work is starting to come in.

Song of the week - If You're Going Through Hell (Rodney Atkins)

The Obnoxious SAHM for giving me the Mom Of The Year Award. Have you read this post? Do I still deserve it now?

Bibi of Bibi Has The Last Word for giving me the Sisterhood Award.

Purple and Gray Paint. The wall behind our bed is purple, and the rest of the room is gray. We have been working our butts off painting our room, and it's finally done!

Aunt Flow - I have been waiting on her for 9 days to show up. I was starting to get scared that she wasn't going to come.

Flowers blooming.

It's been a long day........

For some stupid reason, Keith and I have both decided to stop smoking. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think it's stupid to stop smoking. I think it's stupid to have two people in the same household quit smoking. Cold turkey. Anyway, we quit around 9:00 yesterday morning and it has been a roller coaster ride. One minute everything is fine, and the next WATCH OUT! We pretty much decided it would just be easier if we didn't speak to each other unless necessary.

Andrew has been sick since last Friday, and all of his symptoms got better except for his sore throat. $75 and a trip to the walk-in clinic = Strep Throat. Poor kid.

Spent the day painting the last wall in our bedroom. 3 walls are gray, and we painted the 4th wall a dark purple. Problem was that we ran out of paint before we finished the wall. So, we ended up using the light purple paint that was supposed to be for our bathroom and painting over the dark purple.
<<< Bottom is the color we wanted, but we ended up with the color on the top.

I am going to work with Keith tomorrow for one of the first jobs we are doing for the new contract with Sam's. Will need to stop and get a bag of suckers to use when I need a cigarette.

Working on my and then off to bed....

Song Of The Week

Whenever I am having a rough day, I like to play this song because it instantly puts a smile on my face. Needless to say, I have listened to this song quite a few times in the last month.

Rodney Atkins - If You're Going Through Hell

Is there a song that represents you this week?

What a girl wants......

Conversation between Princess Amber and myself.

Mommy: Amber, what do you want to be when you grow up?

Amber: (No hesitation whatsoever) A Mom.

Amber: But wait Mom, who are you going to marry?

Mommy: What do you mean marry? I am already married to your dad.

Amber: But I am going to marry him when I grow up.

Mommy: But sweetie, you won't be able to marry your daddy. It's not allowed.

Amber: NOOOOOO! (She proceeds to throw herself on the floor and cry for the next 20 minutes)

How can I explain to a 4 year old that she just cannot marry her Daddy? I never thought that my little question would provoke such drama.

It's just one of those days.........

This is where I am today:

Thank you Limp Bizkit for describing exactly how I feel.

Its just one of those days
When you don't wanna wake up
Everything is fucked
Everybody sux
You don't really know why
But want justify
Rippin' someone's head off
No human contact
And if you interact
Your life is on contract
Your best bet is to stay away motherfucker
It's just one of those days!!

Last night however, I was in a good mood. My BIL got a "Brand New Girlfriend" and he brought her over here last night with her daughter and her daughters boyfriend. My SIL also showed up with her family. We had a really nice time hanging out in the garage mahal drinking and watching the guys play darts. The kids played manhut and ran around outside.

This was kind of a big deal because my BIL doesn't always have the greatest taste in woman. They don't always "fit in" with the rest of us wackos..... But the new GF seemed like she fit right in with the rest of us. Maybe she's a keeper?

Friday Favorites #2

Yes, it's that time again. Time to pay homage to all the things that got us through the week, and give credit where credit is due!

Here is what has gotten me through the last week:

Our camping trip to Silver Lake. Quality time with the family and lots of R & R. I definitely needed this!

American Idol. Again, I love this show. I am really liking Danny Gokey. What about you?

Kamora- Generic Kahlua, but still tastes as good. Can't have champagne taste on no budget!

My Bloggy Friends - All of your kind messages and encouragement have kept me smiling daily. Thank you for that.

My Mom - She is there for me no matter what, and then when I start to crawl into my little hole, she always calls and pulls me back out.

The rest of the week, nothing kept me going and I was a miserable, cranky, biotch.

I love the smell of campfires.......

.........But before I get into that, I just wanted to send a quick "Thank You" to all of my readers that sent me encouraging messages this last week. Knowing you are all pulling for me feels great! To be honest, I am in kind of a rut right now. Not feeling the greatest physically or mentally. BUT, I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if I can't quite see it yet.

Now, back to the smell of campfires. I love the smell of campfires, and it was quite unfortunate that we are in the middle of a drought right now. Otherwise, our CAMPING TRIP last weekend would have been just a tad better. I won't complain though, I had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. It just stunk that after being at the campground for 5 minutes we were informed by the evil old lady with no sense of humor nice lady that runs the campground that there were to be no fires. Though we did find a sign in the bathroom that said we could have a "cook" fire instead of a campfire. I'm getting a little carried away with myself. Let's start at the beginning.....
Since Keith's entire family (wife, brother, sister, brother-in-law) is jobless (they all work for the same company - except me) we decided to go camping. We ended up in the Silver Lake Recreation Area of the Withlacoochee State Forest at the Crooked River Camground. The campground is only about 25 minutes from the house, so we loaded up on Friday and we were off. After setting up the tents, we had our run in with the vampire nice camp lady. We had a nice chicken dinner that my brother-in-law burnt to a crisp and then froze our butt's off for the rest of the night. Well, that is until we started a real campfire. That kept us a little warmer, but we had to keep throwing water on it everytime a car came. (In case it was the vampire again).

The kids kept themselves busy with the glo necklaces that we brought with us. The necklaces were a bluish-purple color and so they were then called the "Blurples". They ran up and down the camground amusing all of the other guests while trying to stay warm.

It was so cold that my Sister-in-law and her husband left at 6:30 Saturday morning to run home and get some more blankets. Once the sun came up, it started to warm up outside and we had a nice breakfast of sausage & biscuits with scrambled eggs. Since it was our first time cooking biscuits on the grill, they came out burnt as hell a little well done, but they were still edible.

After that we went down to the nasty, slimy, freezing cold, water hole and let the kids do some fishing, swimming, and playing on the trampoline.

We returned and had dinner which consisted of steak, sauteed mushrooms & onions, baked beans, and fried potatoes. See what foodstamps will buy? The weather was much nicer on Sat. night and we were able to actually hang out around the camp fire cook fire.

Then I went raccoon hunting with my brother-in-laws & niece. We saw about 10 raccoons. They were coming at us from all directions and were even up in the trees above us. It was quite an experience.

OK, enough of my babbling. Will catch you up on the rest of life soon.

Check out the rest of our camping pictures here.

Do you enjoy camping with your family? If not, what other things do you like to do outside?

Friday Favorites #1

My friend Janna has started a new blog game called This is where you list all of the things that have gotten you through the past week. Head on over to her blog by clicking on the graphic and let her know that you have added your

Here are the things that have gotten me through the past week.

Pine Island Beach - A relaxing day in the sun is what I needed after last week! This beach sure isn't like the ones that I am used to, but it is the closest thing to a beach that I have found since moving to Hernando County. The best part is that they close the parking after the lot is full and the beach doesn't become super crowded. There are volleyball nets and also a concession stand. We had a nice day with my sister-in-law Michelle and her kids.

My BFF Nichole and my Sister-in-law Michelle. They knew I was feeling down because of my loss of work and with Keith being out of town so they decided to have a sleepover at my place. It was really nice, we had all of the kids (4 children under 5 yrs, a 9 year old, and 3 teenagers) who played really well together. We had a big spaghetti dinner and then Michelle & I polished off a bunch of wine before bed. The only mishap we had was a clogged sink....The teens had cleaned up the kitchen and completely backed up the pipes. Nichole to the rescue! She tore into the sink like a professional plumber and it was back in working order so that we they could cook a yummy breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes and sausage.YUMMY!

Florida Unemployment Compensation - I was approved for unemployment. Yay! Not near as much as I was making, but at least it is something until I find a new job!

Black Swan Shiraz Wine - Yummy!

Andrew
- With the "man of the house" away on business, Andrew really stepped up to the plate. It was nice to see him take on extra responsibilities without having to ask him.

American Idol
- I love this show.

Text Messaging - When that "special someone" isn't near, this is the perfect way to send little "I Love You's" throughout the day.
