Puking, Painting & Parties.....

It's been a while since I've been on here, life has taken me on another roller coaster ride. There's been ups and downs, twists and turns and plenty of excitement. At least I can say there's been no vomit!

It's been a few days since I started this post and now I have to take back the "no vomit" statement. I'll get to an explanation of that in a bit. If you are my facebook friend, I apologize for the repeat vomit updates.

The kids started school on the 24th. Well, Andrew only went for one day and then had to finish up his OSS. He is almost completely finished with his sentence, all he has left to do is his last jury duty on the 21st and then they will rip up the documents and throw them all away leaving him with NO record. He returned to school on Wednesday only to be sent home halfway through the day. (This is due to the vomit that I will get to later). Other than having 2 weeks of homework to catch up on and a couple of honors classes, I think that he is pretty excited to be back in school. This year he plans on playing football, basketball, and track so it looks like I will be spending a lot of time at the middle school.

Amber is absolutely loving school. She's in the VPK program and attends school for 3 hours a day. I totally wish it was longer miss her so much while she is gone. It's quite lonely around here with both of them gone, but I have been able to get much more done around the house without them here.

Keith brought me home a new friend and her name is Freckles. She is so stinkin' cute but is driving me crazy with the whole house training thing. I have no patience... But at least Sasha now has a cuddle buddy!

We've been doing lots of painting on the house and someday soon I hope to have it finished so that we can do another home video tour. Don't worry, I will be here to film this one so it won't be so lame dorky quick.

I Stan got back.

Yes, he came back to me in a package of socks for Amber. Isn't that nice? Thanks MOM! I was able to get rid of him again though when my Sister came over for Labor Day.

We celebrated my brother Patrick's 25th birthday on Saturday. I am really starting to feel old now. He's a half a century and I'm almost 30. EEEEEK!

          Kelly           Me     Patrick          Katelyn
^Just a few of my siblings! I saw my Dad for the first time since the "incident" which was kinda awkward. Not much was said other than some "I Love You's" but, I guess that's a start?

I spent quite a few hours in the ER on Sunday with Amber because the cold that she had developed on Friday had gotten much worse and I was scared that she may have developed pink eye. Her eyes were all red and gunky.

This picture doesn't even begin to explain what her eyes really looked like. Diagnosis = Upper Respiratory Infection + No Pink Eye. Whew! So, Nichole and the twins came to spend the night (as we had previously planned before the ER visit). The next day we had a small get together for Labor Day. Good times!

On to the vomitus.....I told you I would get to it. ***Possibly TMI below***BEWARE***
Tuesday morning, Keith woke up to go to work and found that he was incredibly sick. Whatever it was, it was pouring coming out of his body like water but from both ends.... At lunchtime I got a call telling me to come and pick up Andrew as he had been throwing up in school. He ended up having the same problems as Keith and this lasted all night long. According to my favorite website (facebook) I noticed that Nichole also started having these problems Tuesday night. Then, on Wednesday my sister joined the vomiting crew. At first we thought it might be food poisoning because everyone that was sick had been at my house on Monday. Then, my sister-in-law got it too (and she wasn't at the party). Whatever it was, it was BAD! I made Keith & Andrew take shots of apple cider vinegar which seemed to help calm their stomachs. Andrew was able to return to school yesterday and Keith returned to work today. As far as I know, everyone is back to normal now. I am so happy that I didn't catch this one!

Weekend Recap

My sister came to spend the weekend with me us. I LOVE it when she comes because we always act like complete morons have fun! Friday night we she decorated piggy banks for the twins birthday party while I decorated her and took stupid pictures of myself and Sasha.

Saturday we went to the twins birthday party and had a great time. Family, friends, and Food (gyros that we stopped to get on the way there). What more could you ask for? It had been a little over a month since I had seen the girls, and their Daddy informed me that every weekend they ask to come and see us. Awwww :)

Of course, we also had to do a mini photo shoot. Luckily I was wearing a dress and didn't have to climb the tree!

After the party we kidnapped picked up my nieces and nephew and stuffed them in the trunk so that they could spend the night with us. The kids had a great time playing together and it was Kayli's first time staying with us. It all went well except for the fact she would scream at the top of her lungs everytime Sasha went near her.

Sunday we spent the day at Andrew's fathers' house. It was nice seeing Andrew's aunts again, I haven't seen them since I was a teenager. Again, we had family, friends and good food!

I'd say this weekend was a success!

Not Me Monday - Take 1

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by
MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. This is my first Not Me Monday. I have NOT been watching JannaBee participate in this for months and have NOT finally decided to jump on board.

On to my post....

I did
NOT have a nightmare dream that everything in my phone was deleted and wake up in a complete panic. I would never do that because I do NOT care that much about my phone. Upon my panicked awakening, I did NOT try to jump out of bed only to find that my legs were NOT yet awake and fall completely on my face.

I did
NOT have so much to drink on Saturday that the thought of alcohol does NOT instantly make me want to vomit. I did NOT wake up on Sunday and NOT remember much about the night before. I did NOT spend most of Sunday in bed recovering.

I did NOT get into an argument with Keith on the phone about NOTHING. I did NOT hang up on him and then text him to NOT call me for the rest of the day. I would NOT do that. It would be so immature and we all know that I'm NOT ever immature.

I did NOT have to take my teenage son to court today. He did NOT get charged with battery for punching another kid in the face. He did NOT get sentenced to 30 hours of community service, attitude adjustment classes, a jail tour,a bunch of essay's and jury duty. He did NOT deserve his punishment. (Actually, I thought this was a little much) He did NOT stand up in front of the courtroom and apologize to me. I did NOT cry.

I did
NOT eat 2 slices of pizza, 2 garlic stix, and a whole plate of appetizers for dinner tonight. I did NOT then drive home with my pants unzipped because they were too tight. My belly does NOT still hurt.

I did
NOT find out today that another one of my friends is hooked on roxies. I am NOT worried about her and her children. I do NOT wish that this drug would disappear.

I am
NOT about to shut down the computer for a couple of hours to watch The Haunting in Connecticut.

I am
NOT hoping that you will leave me lots of comments. I do NOT ever think of silly little things like that.

Friday Favorites #6

It's Friday Favorites time!

Oh yes it's time to pay homage to all the things that got us through
the week, and give credit where credit is due!

I have missed a whole bunch of Friday Favorites in my absence, but I am back and even though this week has been hell, there are some things to be thankful for. Here are my Friday Favorites this week....

My
friends- You know who YOU are. If it wasn't for you, I don't know how I would have gotten through this last week. Thank you for being there when I needed you.

90's Music - If I am feeling down, all I have to do is turn on some 90's and I'm bobbin my head and singing along!

The Red Velvet Art girls - They are such an inspiration!

My friends & family. Thank you for making my birthday special.

I'm not sure if Janna Bee is still doing the Friday Favorite's right now, but head on over to her blog and say hello anyway!

Poems, Fights, Sexting & Tequila

My sweet son was abducted by aliens and his body is now inhabited by a moody, sneaky, dramatic, depressed, liar. I do hope he returns soon, I miss him.

It all started when the first girlfriend came into the picture. I noticed here and there that he was being dishonest about small things. I would catch him, we would talk about it and he would get grounded or whatever and we would move on.

POEMS
A couple of weeks before school let out, I received a call from the guidance counselor that I needed to come in and speak with him. He sounded quite concerned so I raced into the school to find Andrew in his office. Turns out Andrew was writing in a notebook during class and was caught by the teacher. She took the notebook away from him, placed it on her desk, and went back to teaching the class. At some point she noticed the notebook was gone and upon taking it away from him again (he had snuck up to her desk and took it when she wasn't looking) she decided to read it to see what was so important. Inside she found some very disturbing poetry and song lyrics and turned it over to guidance. The stuff inside the book was definitely all negative. It talked of cutting, burning clothes, drugs, etc... According to Andrew, most of the stuff was song lyrics (which I confirmed with google) and some were poems that he had written when he was angry. The guidance counselor did a suicide test on him and the test came out good. It showed no signs of him being suicidal. I was told to keep an eye on him and to try to get him to open up about whatever it was that was bothering him. Now, I know for a fact that he doesn't cut himself (he walks around in just shorts most of the time) and I am also pretty sure that he's not doing drugs or burning his clothes but this still upset me greatly. I tried talking to him but he wouldn't talk back.
FIGHTS
A few weeks later, I again received a call from the school. This time from a very upset principal that claimed my son "attacked" another student and that I needed to get down there immediately. So, I show up to the school and am taken to the School Resource Officer's office where he proceeds to question my son regarding the incident. What happened was that this other student, *A* had spit in my son's face 2 weeks earlier and then had been suspended from school for 2 weeks for a different incident. My son didn't tell anyone what happened because he figured that *A* was gone for the rest of the year. They let *A* come back for the last day of school, and when my son saw *A*, he said he just flipped and socked him in the jaw. When *A* didn't fight back he walked away instead of trying to continue the fight. The S.R.O. explained that because the spitting incident had happened on another day, my son was being charged with battery. *A*'s parents wanted to press charges. He could have been arrested on the spot and hauled into jail. Fortunately since my son is an honor roll student who had never been in trouble before, the S.R.O. decided that instead of arresting him, he will have to go to Youth Court. On Aug. 3, my son will sit in front of a jury of his peers and go to trial for his crime (OMG Do you know how it feels to type that? Horrible.). The judge is a local attorney that volunteers to do this to keep first time offenders out of jail and without a criminal record. Once my son completes his punishment, all records will be disposed of and his name will be cleared. This opportunity is only given 1 time, and if he messes up again he goes straight to jail without passing go....
SEXTING
My son does not have a cell phone that he is allowed to carry around with him. He has one in case of emergencies that he is only given when he goes somewhere or stays home alone so that I can contact him. At times, I let him use my cell phone to chat with his friends/girlfriend. One night he was using my phone and as I was getting ready for bed, I sent him a  text message from Keith's phone that it was getting late and he needed to bring my phone to me. He replied back with a real snotty message about how it wasn't a school night and he didn't see what the big deal was. This pissed me off. Tremendously. I went to retrieve my phone from him and he seemed real nervous, like he didn't want me to get my phone back. As I came back into my room and checked out the conversation that he was having, I then knew why. Sexting. On my phone. As if we hadn't had a million talks about this. Needless to say, he's not using my phone anymore!
TEQUILA
4th of July party at my Dad's house. (Also a party for Dad & my sister Kelly's birthday). Keith & I watch as my dad hands Andrew an open beer. We think he's joking around and Keith takes the open beer from him and hands him an un-open one to go put back in the fridge. Dad asks why we won't let him have a beer. "It's a private party and he should be allowed to drink one" says Dad. Keith & I both explain to dad why we don't want him to have a beer (Like we should really have to explain this to a 50 something year old man) and how we don't think it's funny that he even suggested this. A little while later I am informed that standing directly behind me, my dad give my son a shot of tequila.  I am pissed. Are you fucking kidding me? I can't believe that he would seriously do that, (still thought he was joking about the beer because he can be a real ass sometimes) and I am ready to leave. Keith tries talking to Dad about the situation but he won't listen and claims he is trying to get him to "open up" about whatever has been bothering him. Seriously? For real? Let's get the kid drunk so he can open up? I don't friggin think so. (If you can't tell, I am still pissed) Finally, we leave. 12 days later and I still haven't spoken to him (he hasn't tried to contact me)

So, this is the crap that I have been dealing with..... My son is a good kid, that gets good grades in school and will do anything to help out around the house or with his sister. I don't understand what happened all of a sudden to cause such irresponsible behavior. This is why I believe he was abducted by aliens.

Seriously, for those of you that have already raised your teenagers do you have any advice? I don't have any idea what to do other than to lock the kid up in my house and never let him leave again.

April 23, 2009

My name is Tina and I am a slacker.

***Updated below***
I cannot believe that it has been a month since I have posted anything. I kept telling myself that I needed to sit down and write something, but here I am now apologizing for the last month of nothingness that I have provided you with. (Hey, at least I have been updating my status on Twitter for you) A lot has happened in our lives and I'll do what I can to explain without making it too long........
Remember me telling you about my BIL and his new GF? Well, there has been a twist to this story. Not only are they still dating, but my son is now dating her daughter. This is a big deal. Andrew has never had a girlfriend before and they are in "L-O-V-E".

I have had a great time hanging out with both of them this last month and look forward to more Beach Trips & Parties!

Andrew made honor roll for the 3rd time. (Only 1 more quarter to go!)

Andrew joined the track team. He is more competitive than I had realized and that has caused a couple of tumbles and a few bruises to his ego. No matter what, he makes me proud. Today is the last track meet and then next week is the championship. I'm a little disappointed that the track season is over so soon. I never wanted to be a "soccer mom", but I have really enjoyed going to the meets and watching Andrew compete.

Amber went on a road trip to Kentucky with my Mom & Eddie to my Uncle Scott's farm. She had a great time learning about all of the farm animals and let me know that she wants to be a farmer when she grows up. I don't have the photo's of their trip yet, but I will share them as soon as I get them.

Sasha broke my nose. How does a dog break your nose you ask? It was my own stupid fault. It was Sasha's sheer determination to achieve her goal. What was her goal? To retrieve the largest tennis ball ever made and bring it to her favorite person (me) as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, somewhere in her plan she forgot to include stopping a
nd ran right into my face. This left me with 2 miniature shiners and a slightly crooked nose.

Sasha became a woman-dog.

Well, this was not much of a celebration for my 100th post, but it's almost time for American Idol and I am pooped. I will continue with the rest of my catch-up soon. Goodnight.......

***Updated 4/23***

I have been on the job hunt for 2 months now and have yet to even get an interview. Unemployment is still coming in, but it does not pay all of the bills, so we are slowly sinking financially. I am a bit embarassed to admit that we were approved for foodstamps. Being a teenage mother, I have worked very hard to stay off of public assistance and now here I am..... But, that's life. Gotta feed the kids!

The contract that Keith's company got with Sam's Club has kicked off, but there has been minimal work. Working with family is always hard, but it seems much harder when there isn't any money coming in. This has caused some major drama within the family and Keith has now decided to find a job elsewhere. There are some insurances that we have to get together and he should start working in about 2 weeks. I'm not going to hold my breath.
